Waiting in Windsor

View from the Transit Windsor "Tunnel Bus" stop.
Celebrated St. Patrick's day by taking the "Tunnel Bus" to Windsor and back.  Lucked out again at the People Mover turnstile (put in .75 and got back a handful of change and tokens).  Bought some delicious Canadian candy bars.
The Transit Windsor Tunnel Bus has a stop at the Mariner's Cathedral in Detroit, which is mere steps away from the Ren Cen People Mover stop.  It also stops at the Windsor Greyhound station.  This means that I can take public transportation from my home in Detroit to the Windsor Greyhound station, but there is no public transportation to the Detroit Greyhound station...
I wonder where I can Go Greyhound in Canada?

Westside...

Waited here for almost an hour.  Although it looks like a boarded up, abandoned car dealership, there apparently is still some sort of "business" activity taking place here.  I watched a UHaul pull up and unload what looked like a washer or dryer.  It disappeared through the second garage door from the left.  I turned back around and faced the street when I realized that a man in a yellow jacket eating a small bag of potato chips was watching me watch the activity. After the UHaul left, I turned back around to look again, and the man in the yellow jacket was still standing over there watching me watch the building.  I turned back toward the street again.  A few minutes later, an empty potato chip bag floated by.  I turned back around again, and the man in the yellow jacket was no longer there, no evidence left that any activity had taken place.

Dolphins All Day

Turns out the kids smoking in the gas station on W 7 Mile are not alone; The last time I passed through there while transferring between busses, the guy behind the counter was smoking too.  I guess it's better to just pretend I don't notice.

Luck O' the Irish

Yes, technically, I was waiting for the PeopleMover, not the bus.  But I was taking the PeopleMover to a bus stop...
It was my lucky day at the turnstile... I put in my first coin (they raised the fare to .75 from .25) and it got stuck.  I pushed the coin return button, and a crapload of coins and tokens came out like an old timey slot machine...

Give Faith a Fighting Chance

Made a new friend

Waiting... Had just finished eating at Motown Coney.  A man with great posture wearing a fez and a puffy camo jacket walks up and hands me a yellow knit cap.  Says he is a "street preacher."  I turn and look for the bus again.  He taps me on the shoulder and I turn around... He is now holding about six hats and a bottle of perfume.  I shake my head no, and he stuffs them all back in the various pockets in his jacket and pants.
He looks up the street, and starts walking to the stop before the one I am at.  At first I think it is so that he can hand out more hats, but then think it probably would be a good idea to move to that stop.  There are a ton of people there, and I just imagined that the bus would pick them all up, and not have room for me. More than once, I have had a packed full bus zoom on past me.  No Room! No Room!
The bus arrives, and I see all the people getting on.  I see the street preacher getting aboard.  Next thing I know, the bus zooms past me.  I have waited over 45 minutes for a 3 minute bus ride that passes me by.
I walk home instead.
